Johnny Fritz’s music ranges from classic rock to rock-country to easy listening. His formative years were the 1970s and 1980s, with early influences that included The Beatles, Elton John, The Eagles, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp and Blue Rodeo.
Johnny Fritz grew up in Milton, a small town about an hour northwest of Toronto, Canada. That small town environment, with plenty of open spaces and quality sports opportunities is what Johnny holds near and dear to this day. To his great fortune his formative early adult years were the 1970s and 1980s - in his mind, the greatest music era ever!
Music was very influential and still provides a link to great memories of the past. Early artist influences include The Beatles, Elton John, The Eagles and The Guess Who. Add to that list John Mellencamp, Matchbox 20 and Keith Urban from the last few decades.
Listening to music was great but there was always a nagging desire to learn how to play an instrument and create something of his own. In 2007, at the ripe old age of 46, Johnny took up guitar and 5 years later in 2012, penned his first tune. Since then it’s been like turning on some magical tap, as original songs just keep pouring out.
